AC/Decal/VT on Windows 10 Randomly Crashing

Hi all,

ACclient.exe randomly crashes for me. Usually it goes back to the desktop with "acclient.exe has stopped responding. Occasionally the AC screen just freezes completed. I can access the OS behind the frozen AC client, but it is always the top layer so I can't see anything (IE. Task Manager). I've recently install AC, Decal, and VT on my fresh install of Windows 10. I ran into some issues where I was missing DX9 etc. but I was eventually able to get the game to run (I think I had to run it in compatibility mode for XP). I did notice it's more likely to crash when entering portal space, however it does just randomly crash when doing nothing or clicking something in my inventory.

Anyone have an ideas for a fix? Willing to try anything.

post a decal export so we can see what plugins you have running at the moment. It's possible one of them is crashing you.

noticed two things from the export that looked fishy, first Aetherfilter is enabled if memory serves that is a part of Gearfoundry which you have disabled. also you are missing most of the C++ libraries.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but if you open the vbundle installer and hit checklibs I believe it will provide the missing C++ libraries.

It looks like the checklib just checks for DX9. Did not prompt me for any C++ libs. Hmm. Is there a list of C++ Libraries that are required somewhere?

Just an update to anyone that has the same issue. See the version chart here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft ... on_history

The number in the DLL name is the internal version number of the C++ package.
