Chaos Command questions

Hi All - I'm a new meta user, so I'm hoping my issues are just simple things I missed. In a nutshell, I'm working on setting up a simple little 3 person "army". Going over guides here I'm using Chaos Command and Chaos Control. I am successful setting it up to have my main be the only one who can send commands to the other 2, but I have two questions on related items:

1) followme - I DO see the directions in ChaosControlHelp.txt that explain to edit how to do it, but I think I'm missing where the "FollowChar" rule is. I looked in the ChaosControl and ChaosCommand config files, as well as in VirindiTank tabs, but can't find that specific named rule. Also, the "All{Embedded Nav""(0pts)}" section seems to have been missing, but that may have just been me being blind when I tried it earlier. haha.

2) Some of the Chaos Helper rules (initiated from my main character) work, but many don't. I expect it's related to the #1 issue above, but Combat On and Combat Off are not working, but Buff On and Buff Off are working. I thought maybe it was related to not selecting my weapon, but I have chosen that in the Items section of Virindi Tank. Is there another section or other item I can check?

Those are the two main items, and I'm sure if I can fix those I can answer my other small issues plaguing me from getting my little team up and running. Any help is appreciated, and if I'm missing something stupid feel free to call me out on it! :-)

Thanks,
Jake

Do not ever edit files outside of game. 99.9% of the time you will use the in-game editor.

Followme setup must be done on a follower:

Profiles Tab - Load ChaosControl

Click Route tab

Turn on VT MiniRemote from Virindi UI's plugin if you do not already have it enabled

Select the leader and click FC on the miniremote to Follow Character, you will see a single waypoint appear in the route tab

Click the Meta tab
Find the FollowMe rule - click it - on the right side you'll see Load embedded nav"" - click it
click import from current

Reload the meta on all other clients to refresh their files.

Done
----------

All commands should function properly as long as you have Mag-tools and set up the regex with your character names correctly.

The ones you mentioned are VTank commands, you are likely receiving an error in your chat window if it isn't working, or a yellow error at the top of the 3D window if it is issuing a bad command.

Please read Profile Management - http://www.virindi.net/wiki/index.php/B ... g_Profiles
Make sure you understand the difference between the different profile types and when to use them:

[Default] - resets on relog, never use except to copy a fresh profile

[ByChar] - used to make new profile copies, or if you only ever use ONE profile on the character (bad choice, especially for a multiaccounter)

[Char]profilename - most common, use these.

----------

ChaosCommand isn't necessary ( and fairly useless ) since the ChaosHelper plugin was released - customizable huds with buttons to click for every command, rather than making hotkeys you must remember.

HW - Thank you so much, this is excellent info to help steer me back on track. The followme info is working well, and persists after a relog now too (after creating the fellow again and running the macro in vtank, that is).

For the other features not working, specifically combaton, my characters just sit there but they do show they are receiving the request. This output is on my follower and he just sits there:

[Fellowship] Ceril the Mage says, "!combat on"
[VTank] Meta executing action: All: {Chat Command: /vt opt set enablecombat true, Set Meta State: Default}
[VTank] Set option enablecombat = True
[VTank] Meta transitioning to state: Default

I verified mag-tools is on there and is updated (2.0.9). I went through each mag-tools option and didn't see anything to integrate to Virindi apps, so I'm just guessing it works with Virindi apps by default?

Another n00b question, but, what windows does Vtank output to and how can i edit that option? I'd like to see if, like you suggested, maybe an error is being thrown when running combaton.

You have already helped me a lot, thank you again HW. I'll be out of town until end of week but I'll give this more testing come next weekend. Thanks again.

From the output it appears it is functioning properly.
Now you must check your character profile to ensure it "will' attack: Monster list, items tab, etc etc

The VTank output is broken up in to a few categories. You can change the window each appears in by using Virindi Chat System - Presets tab. Select the rule - click the M1234 buttons to choose Main window or 1-4 floating chat windows.

Turn on VT Mini Remote from Virindi UI's (VirindiHUDS in decal agent list) plugin, it lets you quickly view/change the main vtank options for Macro/combat/buff/nav/loot so you can see the "state' your characters are in.

Mag doesn't require any integration, it reacts to /mt commands issued to chat.
